Dave Chisholm Dave Chisholm

Dave Chisholm is a trumpet player and composer who currently lives in Rochester, NY. In the fall of 2010 he started work on his DMA at the Eastman School of Music. He has his bachelor and masters degrees from the University of Utah.

His second full-length album “Calligraphy” was released in December of 2011. It combines post-rock textures with jazz improvisation.

His first album “Radioactive” came out June of 2010 and features 5 of his new big-band compositions. It is inspired largely by comic books, apparently.

Dave exclusively plays an Adams A4 trumpet in raw brass.

Dave is also a published comic-book writer and artist.

All About Jazz needs your support

Donate
All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
