David Herzhaft is a pioneer and new generation harmonica player, pushing the limits of the diatonic harmonica further and blending it into new styles. Using bends and overbends his standard tuned harmonica becomes a full chromatic He was first to play flight of the bumble bee on the diatonic in a video that collected 500k+ views. David also composes and produces his music. In Pacific Lounge he played and programmed all the instruments, mixed and produced the full album.
“David Herzhaft defies boundaries and expectations. Drawing from across and beyond the jazz sphere, Herzhaft shows surprisingly control and versatility with the blues harp – taking on bebop romps, contemporary fusion, down-home americana and even a latin arrangement of Paganini’s daunting Caprice No5.” – JazzTimes (03/2008)
“David Herzhaft opens one’s eyes and ears to a new approach to the merger, and it
works like a charm here on this impressive 2-disc set, Jazzin' Around.”
Ronald Jackson – Jazz review.com (Usa) 12/08
