Guitarist/Composer Derek Bomback was born in Torrance California, a suburb of Los Angeles. He started playing guitar at the age of 8 and learned to play rock and blues at an early age which would end up being his roots. At the age of 16, after hearing Pat Metheny's Bright Size Life album, he dedicated his musical studies to Jazz. After graduating high school, he attended El Camino Community College where he studied music performance and theory and after a few years, was admitted to Berklee College of Music in Boston. There he studied with Berklee's top instructors and received his Bachelors in Music with a dual degree in Guitar Performance and Jazz Composition in 2010
