Adele-Marina Wilding

Award-winning Adele-Marina Wilding is a multi-talented singer/songwriter, composer/arranger and pianist. Previously based in England and Scotland, she paid her dues on the UK music scene, establishing herself as a respected singer/songwriter.

Born in Colchester, England to a Barbadian mother and an English father, Adele-Marina was raised and educated in Canada and Europe. She is a classically trained pianist and contralto whose formative influences include Robert Schumann and French Impressionist composers Claude Debussy and Gabriel Faure. Whilst in the UK, she studied vocal jazz with respected jazz vocalists-educators Angela Elliott and Louise Gibbs, and she received additional training from the Chelmsford Jazz Summer School, performing with UK luminaries Pete Churchill, Mark Lockheart, Phil Robson, to name but a few. Her studies culminated with the Diploma in Jazz and Popular Music Studies from the renowned Goldsmiths College, University of London. In Canada, Adele recently studied with international jazz vocalist Dee Daniels.

Adele-Marina has performed in notable jazz and singer-songwriter venues in the UK and Canada: Jazz Café, Hackney Empire Bullion Room, the Troubadour, (London), Sands Venue (formerly of Gainsborough), Rockers (Glasgow), Lady of the Lake (Canada), among many others. Adele-Marina's jazz/crossover stylings are reflected in her self-produced, commercial releases: 'Emeralds (& Other Little Gems)' (2004, Blue Dawn Records) and 'Sketches On Blue: Limited Edition EP' (2005, Blue Dawn Records). In 2007, she took a hiatus from the jazz scene to pursue a nu-folk project, resulting in the release of 'Portholes & Skylights: Limited Edition EP' (2009, ProdiGal Records). Tracks from all three CDs have earned Miss Wilding excellent reviews and airplay/appearances on national and international radio.
