Almog Sharvit

After years of exploring and absorbing art in a wide variety of mediums, Bass player Almog Sharvit possesses his own personal and compelling style, both in performance and composition. Born and raised in Israel, Almog grow up playing the cello from the age of 7 and later on pick up the Bass guitar and the Upright bass at the age of 13. While serving the IDF as a band member in the Air Force band ,Almog attended the collaborative program of the Tel-Aviv Conservatorium and The New School for jazz studies(New York). During his studies, Almog has performed throughout Israel and shared the stage with Israel’s finest musicians ,won the America-Israel scholarship between 2012- 2014 and took the first prize in the Rostov International Jazz competition (Russia 2012) .

After finishing his studies at the Tel-Aviv Conservatorium ,Almog moved to New York in order to attend The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music ,where he graduated in 2016. Since his relocating Almog has been playing all over NYC in venues like - Rockwood Music Hall ,Nublu ,Blue Note ,Bar Next Door ,Fat cat as well as international festivals such as The Detroit Jazz Festival (USA) ,Bern Jazz Festival (Switzerland) and The Red Sea Jazz Festival (Israel). Currently ,Almog working on his debut album with his band “Kadawa” ,in which he plays a centric role both in composing ,arranging and performing. Kadawa will release their debut album in the fall of 2016 and will tour the United States and Europe this year and the next. In NYC ,You can find Almog playing a weekly residencies with musicians at Injera and collaborate with artists such as the I.M project ,Benny Oyama and many more.
