Andre Togni

Drummer, composer, and music producer André Togni has a jazz background and researches Brazilian popular culture for a long time. He won the Tim Award 2005 as a music producer, and percussionist for the "Casa de Farinha Group", and has participated in several festivals in Brazil, the United States, and Europe. With influences from African and Oriental rhythms, he went even deeper into the music that always inspired him: jazz, and in 2010 released his 1st album entitled “Lugar de Sal”, with a modern language emphasizing the classic formation of the trio. "... it has a lightness but at the same time experiencing rhythmic and harmonic tensions..." “Lugar de Sal” makes a reinterpretation of contemporary jazz with rhythms of Brazilian popular culture with a focused approach in which the main voice passes from one instrument to another as a three-way dialogue, it can sound grand or introspective, dramatic or playful.
