Bani Haykal

bani haykal experiments with music + narratives. He has read / presented works in several festivals including The Kuala Lumpur International Literary Festival, Singapore Design Festival, Singapore Arts Festival and The M1 Fringe Festival.

His work with music includes being the vocalist and principle songwriter for alternative rock band, b-quartet, writer to performance / music collective, mux and a relatively new, unnamed, audio-visual collective.

Presently, he is researching on music and culture, whilst developing several alternative systems pertaining to storytelling and music, mirroring modern day Singapore. Recently he has released a live solo recording, Ergophobia, which is based on recent developments. As part of his on-going research, he has presented the first series of music explorations entitled 'alternatives' at The Substation Gallery in 2011.

He is an Associate Artist with The Substation, Singapore.
