Chris Covais
Chris Covais has been playing drums since he was three. An interest in jazz came early after hearing Dave Brubeck, The Modern Jazz Quartet, Vince Guaraldi, Ramsey Lewis, and Pete Jolly. Influences on the drums include Nick Ceroli, Frank DeVito, Milton Banana, Joe Porcaro, and Isaac "Red" Holt. Covais studied briefly with Joe Morello before attending the New School For Jazz And Contemporary Music in 2008. When not free lancing as a jazz drummer, Covais plays vibes in his bossa nova quartet, Chris Covais & Exit 36.
