Chris Kuborn

Long time Jazz Lover, Radio Broadcaster and Composer, Chris Kuborn has been involved with music and broadcasting for most of his life.

Whether he was subjecting his family to recorded “broadcasts” from the bedroom as a kid or working through college at WRST, WBLV and WOUB or podcasting “Pan In Harmony” the only Steel Drum music podcast to date; Chris has always enjoyed “bringing the music to the masses”.

Chris holds a MM from Ohio University in Music Composition and a BM in Music from Univ WI – Oshkosh. He has been playing percussion and steel drum around the world for over 25 years, including a performance at the 2015 Panorama Competition with “birdsong” – Andy Narell’s Trinidadian based 100+ member Steel Band. Tours to Israel, Europe, South America, Canada and the US. He is currently on the Faculty of Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in the Digital Media Technology Program where he focusses on Audio & Video Production and Internet Broadcasting. He is also an Adjunct instructor for his alma matter University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in Music Business.

Chris is an Apple Certified Trainer in Logic X and a Certified Professional in Sound Editing in Final Cut.

Awards

In 2009 Chris won the prestigious PRX Zeitfunk Award – “Most Licensed Debut Producer” for his show: Jazz Odyssey, and has placed in the top 10 most downloaded shows each year since. He has since been in the top 10 in this category every year!
