Dan Thomas

Dan Thomas has performed all over the United States and Canada covering both coasts. His group is capable of performing in all styles from the group?s Hard-Bop focus to sounds from around the globe. Dan is capable of giving performances of original music as well as performances covering all eras in jazz history. The extensive repertoire of this group consists of tunes from the early swing era to bebop and beyond. Dan has delighted audiences at jazz festivals, clubs, political functions, corporate events, and private performances. Dan Thomas is sure to satisfy the most discriminating tastes. Dan?s new Cd ?City Scope? is receiving rave reviews.

A dedicated performer and educator, Dan hails from Canada, and has been in the United States for nearly a decade. He was a regular on the West Coast jazz scene. Besides being a busy performer, Mr. Thomas holds positions as professor of Jazz Studies in the music department at the University of Missouri - Kansas City as well as being on faculty at Penn Valley Community College, and Rockhurst University.

Mr. Thomas, a regular in the Kansas City jazz scene, can be seen at Jazz Festivals throughout the United States and Canada. He performs regularly in a variety of settings from small jazz combos, classical chamber groups, to big bands. He is a frequent clinician and guest artist at High School and University Jazz Festivals.
