David Serero

Actor and baritone, David Serero, has received international recognition and critical acclaim from all over the world. At only 36 years old, he has already performed more than 1,200 concerts and performances throughout the world and played in over 100 films and recorded 20 albums. He has given concerts in Paris at the PARIS OPERA GARNIER, OLYMPIA, EIFFEL TOWER; in New York at the LINCOLN CENTER, CARNEGIE HALL, TIMES SQUARE; in London at the ROYAL COLLEGE OF MUSIC, WEMBLEY STADIUM; and in Moscow at the TCHAIKOVSKY HALL; in Amsterdam at the CONCERTGEBOUW, the BUDAPEST OPERA conducted by PLACIDO DOMINGO and more. He made his sold out WEST END debuts at the Dominion Theatre. He has sung more than 30 lead roles in Opera, Operetta and Musical Theater. In 2012, David Serero performed Don Quixote from MAN OF LA MANCHA in Paris and the title role from the revival of Duke Ellington's only musical: BEGGAR'S HOLIDAY and also starred in the cast album recording. In 2013, David performed with JERMAINE JACKSON in YOU ARE NOT ALONE, a musical written, directed and produced by David Serero. He has also produced and arranged I WISH YOU LOVE an album of Jazz standards for Jermaine Jackson. In December 2013, David shared the cover of Theatre & Performances with Barbra Streisand in London, and made his BROADWAY solo debut at the Snapple Theatre in New York and released his first studio album ALL I CARE ABOUT IS LOVE. In 2014, he released The Broadway Baritone featuring Broadway classics and toured in the UK with a performance on WEST END. During the summer 2014, he recorded the entire love letters's correspondence of NAPOLEON to Josephine and released his new studio album THE CROONER BARITONE, The FRANK SINATRA Classics for the 100th anniversary of Sinatra. In 2015 and 2016, he played Off Broadway the lead roles of SHYLOCK (MERCHANT OF VENICE) and OTHELLO's title role with both critical acclaim. In 2015, he performed two open air concerts on TIMES SQUARE (New York) for BEST OF FRANCE with the presence of the French President Mr Francois Hollande. He released SEPHARDI, an album of Sephardic music in Ladino language and records the title role of RICHARD III in French. In 2016, he releases ALL MY LOVE IS FOR YOU, a Pop Rock album, entirely composed, performed, arranged and produced by himself. He also played NABUCCO (Nabucco) in New York; and the title roles of DON GIOVANNI and RIGOLETTO at the CARNEGIE HALL. In 2017, David entered the prestigious WHO'S WHO AMERICA for demonstrating outstanding achievements in the entertainment world and for the betterment of contemporary society. In the summer 2017, he releases BARITONE OPERA ARIAS, singing opera classics such as Toreador (Carmen) and from operas Tosca, Nozze di Figaro, Fanciulla del West and Barbiere di Siviglia. Among his next performances in New York for 2017/2018 are the title roles of CYRANO OF BERGERAC (Rostand), DON GIOVANNI (Mozart), BARABAS (Marlowe's Jew of Malta), Hermann (World Premiere adaptation of the Queen of Spades) and KING LEAR (Jacob Gordin's The YIDDISH KING LEAR). In American Television, he has appeared in: The Hunt with John Walsh (CNN), Mysteries at the Museum (Travel Channel), Deadline: Crime with Tamron Hall (NBC), Six Degrees of Murder (Discovery Channel), Checked Out, On The Case with Paula Zhan (Discovery ID), Rabid Beast (Animal Planet TV), Suddenly Rich (TLC TV), Whistleblowers (Spike TV), Blood Feuds - Gangs of New York (Discovery Channel), We Are New York WANY (New York TV). In American Films he starred in Alice in America, Tango Shalom, Winter Has No Sun, Most Beautiful Island, Paisanos in Paris, Following Phil, Terminal 5, Sheepshead, Again, Overload Rock or Die, The Redemption, Kingdom of the Alley, Ring Ring, Laundry Day, Capicola, Make it Work, There Will Come Soft Rains, Amarena, When I Sing, Hatikvah. He starred in several commercials for Sotheby's & eBay, Bank of America, Don Julio Tequila, Khiel's, Volkswagen, BJ's, Pepsi, Mitsubishi Cars and more. ​ Full biography on www.davidserero.com ​ BIOGRAPHY: Born in Paris in 1981, David Serero started his career in musicals and theater in New- York (where he lived for 3 years). Then in 2002, David Serero discovered Opera. In 2004, he moved to St Petersburg (Russia) to study at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in the Opera and in the Dramatic Theater department. That same year he made his operatic debut singing Scarpia (Tosca) and Germont (La Traviata). From his acclaimed debut, David received an invitation to be part of the prestigious Young Soloists Academy of the Mariinsky Theater in St Petersburg, Russia, founded by Valery Gergiev and directed by Larissa Gergieva. He became the first "non-Russian" to be part of the Academy. He has toured in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Russia, USA and Israel. In 2006, David Serero made his European debut singing Escamillo (Carmen), his most signature role, at the Brasov Opera in Romania, staged by Cristian Mihaielescu. David Serero received the high distinction of "Ambassador of the city of Brasov" from the Romanian government for his debut performance. In 2007, he returned to sing the parts of the Four Villains (Tales of Hoffmann) in that same company. That same year, David made his U.S debut singing Alfio (Cavalliera Rusticana) & Tonio (I Pagliacci) in Harrisburg, PA. He received critical acclaim for his acting qualities. At 26 years old, David Serero is the youngest French opera singer to make his U.S debut. (Source A.F.P). In 2008, David Serero performed the part of Escamillo (Carmen) at the Livermore Valley Opera (San Francisco, CA) staged by director James Marvel. Invited by the conductor Richard Beswick (ex-Artistic Director and Producer of the legendary label Decca in London for 20 years), he made his France debut with Doctor Malatesta (Don Pasquale), with the Centre Philharmonic in 2008.Thanks to the Encouragement Prize that he received from the Bizet Foundation, David Serero performed the part of Zurga (Pearl Fishers) in Romania. During 2009, David Serero performed the roles of Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor) and Escamillo (Carmen) both in Florida, USA.Mr Serero has performed the parts of General Boum (La Grande Duchesse de Gerolstein / Offenbach) and the Vice-Roi (La Perichole / Offenbach), both for a total of 70 performances. David Serero participated in the Opéralia competition (founded and directed by legendary tenor Placido Domingo) in Hungary 2009. During this competition, David Serero was featured in a documentary of Placido Domingo broadcast on the National Hungarian TV. David Serero was chosen to perform the part of Zapata (Le Chanteur de Mexico) for the 50th celebration of the operetta in Nice 2010. 2011 During 2010 and 2011, he performed at the OPERA DU RANELAGH in Paris, for which he was the Artistic Director. He performed there a concert with pianist CYPRIEN KATSARIS. He later toured in Noumea (New Caledonia) and St Denis (Ile de la Reunion). ​ In June, he performs a concert at the TCHAIKOVSKY HALL in Moscow along with the Bolshoi Ballet and Russian stars Iossef Kobzon, Felix Tsarikati and Zarina Maliti. ​ In July 2011, David Serero performed the Premiere of the first Opera in Hebrew THE DYBBUK by composer Ofer Ben-Amots in Israel in the festival Kfar Blum.This performance was broadcast LIVE on all radios in Israel. ​ In August 2011, he created the OPERA & BROADWAY FESTIVAL at the BARRIERE CASINO in Deauville. ​ In September 2011, he performed a sold out concert at the Synagogue of Nazareth in Paris for the European Day of Jewish Culture. This concert was recorded and broadcast on TV and on Radio. 2012 David performed the part of Valiente from ANDALOUSIE in Lyon with the CALA company. David Serero performed his most signature role: Don Quixote from Man of La Mancha in Paris at the Theatre des Varietes (March 2012). He has also performed it in Deauville (August 2012). He is an investor in the Musical "Leap of Faith" on Broadway. In June 2012, David founded the 1st Paris Film Festival of Musical Film.

THEATRE & PERFORMANCE, UK From the moment David Serero appeared onstage at the Snapple Theater in NYC, carrying his mike and singing “New York, New York” the audience was his. People were cheering, swaying in their seats from side to side while David’s voice soared above it all. What charm! What a performance!
