Diogo Vida

Lisbon, 1977. Completed his degree in Jazz in ESMAE (oPORTO,2005). Completed classical piano studies at the Lisbon Conservatory (2000). Also studied Musical Composition at ESML, attended workshops with portuguese and foreign jazz musicians. Worked with several musical projects and played in clubs and festivals in Portugal, Spain and Angola. Since 2003 he leads his own group, with the main purpose of playing his own compositions. Writes music for dance, theatre and film. His debut album, "ALEGRIA" was considered in the portuguese jazz press one of the best of 2011.

El Duende derives from the duende of Spanish mythology, an elf or magic creature. When the term is used in connection with music, especially flamenco, it means “having soul," something that gives you chills, makes you smile, or even cry, in response to an artistic performance.
