Fghr

FGHR was formed by improvisatory masters Darryn Farrugia, Leonard Grigoryan, Luke Howard and Ben Robertson in 2003.

Since then they have performed regularly in Australia, charting new territory to create the contemporary masterpieces Stationary (2007) and Going Home (2009). These evocative releases showcase the skill and sensitivities of these seasoned musicians.

Going Home features lush original compositions, resonating with vast cinematic landscapes and European jazz influences.

This is a new direction for the performers, who have excelled in a range of musical genres. It is textural rather than improvisational, emphasizing the synergies of group interplay over individual expression. Vocalist Emma Gilmartin, percussionist Alex Pertout and accordion player Anthony Schulz also appear on the album.
