Gina Fox

Singer/Songwriter, keyboardist, performer...daughter of a dramatic somprano and granddaughter of a big band vocalist, Gina began her professional career at age 12. While in musical theatre. Gina became inspired by Diana Ross' performance in "Lady Sings The Blues", and followed to land that same role in a local theatre company, which began Gina's love affair with jazz & blues.

In the years following, she has performed in musical theatre until forming her own band in the mid-1990's. Along the way, Gina as been on stages from New York to Florida to St. Louis, from blues festivals to jazz clubs to Walt Disney World. Some of the artists sh has shared the bill with include Kim Wilson (of the Fabulous Thunderbirds), Debbie Davies, Little Charlie & the Nightcats, Rod Piazza and the Mighty Flyers and more. Other artists she has worked with include late jazz clarinetist Kenny Davern, contemporary harmonica virtuoso and labelmate Dennis Gruenling, and singer/songwriter Peter Karp.

Her range of influences stretch from the jazz of Etta Jones and Sarah Vaughan, to the blues of Charles Brown and Wynona Carr, and beyond. You can hear her many influences as you notice how equally at home she is with smoky, late-night jazz numbers such as "Loverman" or "How Long Has This Been Going On", and then just as comfortable with her original blues such as "Feelin' Me" or "One More Time". But her wide-ranging talents don't stop there, as you can hear on the R&B flovored "No Big Deal" or"Now That I Belong To You".
