Junk Function
Three years and numerous lineup changes later, we're back.
The band currently consists of six men, current students of five universities in three states. For any band that wants to, you know, play gigs, record, even rehearse, this situation presents a bit of a problem. But over the years we have continued to find a way to do all of those things, usually on breaks from school. This particular event, though, excites us most of all.
A few days after Christmas 2013, the six of us woke up early, drove to downtown Richmond's Red Amp Audio, and recorded our first EP, "Cardinal Directions." In four hours. We only had time to play each song twice, and that's what we did. The performances you hear on this album are just that performances, not overproduced, programmed samples recorded in isolation from each other. What you hear is how this band sounds when they play live, and we like to think it's pretty great.
