Lisa Hofmaninger

Born in Vöcklabruck, the soprano saxophonist, bass clarinetist, composer and teacher sees herself as a globetrotter, both musically and geographically. She studied jazz saxophone at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz with Harald Sokal, Florian Bramböck and Andreas Schreiber and at the Pôle Supérieur Paris-Boulogne Billancourt in Paris with Jean-Charles Richard and graduated in 2017 with honor.

Her own projects are mainly located in the broad field of jazz and improvised music, but she does not shy away from exploring other fields that are exciting for her. Among them are: CHUFFDRONE, DUO hofmaninger/schwarz, you promised me poems, First Gig Never Happened, Little Rosies Kindergarten and the duo with her partner Alexander Fitzthum. She is also in great demand as a side woman, e.g. Gina Schwarz' Pannonica, Christian Muthspiel's Orjazztra Vienna and the Vienna Improvisers Orchestra and temporarily in theater and dance projects such as: Toxic Dreams, swaying, Musiktheatertage Wien.

With these numerous bands, she was able to play national and international stages early thanks to her busy concert schedule, including: Moers Festival 2019/22, Jazz Festival Saalfelden 2018/19/21, 12points Festival in Aarhus 2017, Festival Internacional Buenos Aires Jazz 2017/19, Jazz In The Native Yards Cape Town 2019, Ljubljana Jazz Festival 2019/21, South Tyrol Jazz Festival Alto Adige 2019 , Jazz in Ruins 2016/20, Porgy & Bess, Wave Sounds Lunz 2020/21, and many more.

In addition to her concert activities, Lisa Hofmaninger teaches in the OÖ Landesmusikschulwerk and in various workshops.
