Lola Regenthal

Lola Regenthal, born and raised in Räpplinge on the island Öland SE, developed her passion for music at an early age. At age 10 Lola began her musical journey behind the drumset. This led her into the world of jazz, and together with her passion for singing, Soul, Funk and Jazz made Lola develop a childish joy towards what the voice can accomplish. Lola studied music high school in Oskarshamn SE, then received her bachelor in jazzvocals at Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg followed by an erasmus semester at ZHdK (Züricher Hochschule der Künste) as well as a masters in vocal pedagogy at Gothenburg University. For several years, Lola held concerts at the swedish royal family's summer residence Solliden, Öland SE such as Crown Princess Victorias birthdays, concerts held on Solliden stage and during other big events at the palace. After the studies at ZHdK Lola stayed 2 years in Switzerland. This is where she recorded her first album, which was released in 2011 at Origin Records in Seattle. The same year Lola followed her dreams to live even closer to the roots of Jazzmusic and moved to New York City. Lola sang her heart out at legendary venues such as The Bitter End, Shapeshifter Lab, UN headquarters, Metropolitan Room, The Shrine among others, and this along with fantastic musicians made Lola grow further as an artist and human being. After about 5 years in NYC, Lola relocates back to Sweden due to illness in the family. Lola's beloved father, a huge inspiration and best friend, later dies of cancer and moving closer to her family home and beloved mother Gabriele now means more than anything. Nowadays, Lola lives in Kalmar SE, the city on the other side of the bridge that connects the island Öland to the mainland, and closer to her roots. In addition to her continued work as an artist and musician, Lola works as a vocalcoach in the region. With a personal expression and sound, great presence and a soulful range, Lola now continues to enchant her audience. Now awaits,"Letter to Dad" the first single release out of four, out Feb 18th feat fantastic jazzguitarist Mike Stern! Mike Stern, debuted in Miles Davis comeback group in 1981 followed by collaborations with jazz icons such as Stan Getz, Jaco Pastorius, Michael Brecker and many many more! "One of the most magical things that happened to me during my career was when I heard Mike's guitar on my song for the first time! Tears of joy! His presence and his sound truly comes from the heart.
