Malnoia
In January 2018, the trio presented the album in a series of concerts in the Netherlands, and made an appearance on national television on the show Vrije Geluiden. In April of that year, the group performed in Egypt, both in Cairo and at the legendary Library of Alexandria. In June 2018, Malnoia opened the "European Sounds Series" as part of the Blue Note Jazz Festival in New York City.
The trio features pianist Jorn Swart with Benni von Gutzeit, of the Turtle Island Quartet, on viola, and Lucas Pino, whose renowned “No Net Nonet” has a residency at Small’s Jazz Club, on bass clarinet. Malnoia sweeps the listener up in a moving musical experience that has been described as "hallucinogenic chamber music”.
Their upcoming second album “Hello Future” is a new and exciting format: drawing on science fiction film and literature, it explores what it means to be human in a technological age.
