Marc Adler

Flutist Marc Adler has devoted most of his time and energy to developing his musical skills in the area of jazz improvisation and composition. He has received Jazz Performance Fellowships from the PA Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts and holds a Bachelor in Music and Music Education degree from the University of the Arts a Masters in Music degree from Temple University. Marc studied flute privately with Harold Bennett in New York and Pamela Guidetti in Swarthmore. In addition to jazz performance and composition he conducts and directs the PA Flute Choir. He is a featured writer for Flute Talk and has written a popular book of etudes published through Hal Leonard. His recordings are available from CD Baby and feature original compositions performed by some of the finest jazz musicians on the scene today. Recently Marc was a featured soloist with the 2009 National Flute Association Jazz Band in New York City [Ali Ryerson, Director]. The artwork for Labyrinth and Flute Improv/Autumn Smiles was done by Marc’s wife, Marlene D'Orazio Adler.
