Michel Berthiaume has a master’s degree in jazz performance fromMcGill University and has completed his training through private studies with John Riley and John Hollenbeck. He has released two albums as a leader featuring original compositions. departure (XXI-21 productions) and recently Uncompromised (Independent).Some notable performances include a series of video episodes of the Mark Stein Show featuring internationally acclaimed vocalists such as Cheryl Bentine, Patsy Gallant, Robert Davi, and Carol Welsman, a Canadian tour with the Toronto signer Sophie Milman, a recording and European tour with the Jean-Nicolas Trottier Quartet and an award-winning recording and Quebec tour with Susie Arioli. Michel has also performed or recorded with Steve Davis, Chet Doxas, Kirk MacDonald, Kevin Turcotte, Joe Sealy and Jim Vivian.Michel can be heard on several recordings including: Capelton Road (© 2006 XXI-21 Records) and Fortune Calls by Eric Harding, Quartet by Jean-Nicolas Trottier (© 2009 Effendi Records), and All the way by Susie Arioli (© 2012 Spectra Musique).
