Michelle Duda

She began private studies at 12 with acclaimed jazz vocalist and educator, Michele Horsefield Carney. She instilled Michelle's love of the Great American Songbook, and nurtured her instrument over the entire course of her youth.

While earning her BA in Journalism at Ohio State, Michelle was mentored by extraordinary educators and musicians, including Hank Marr, Gary Carney, Vaughn Weister and Matt Paetsch. She performed regularly with The Jim Franck Big Band, and ensembles featuring staples of the Columbus jazz community.

Michelle went on to work as a jingle session singer, voice-over talent and game show host… but when the inimitable Jay Clayton accepted her as a student, she followed her heart to NYC. Here she's learned from great performers and artists including Marion Cowing, Sheila Jordan, and Gene-Krupa trained Frank Ammirati.

Her debut CD, A Fool Like Me, features arrangements by frequent collaborators Paul Odeh and Yoshi Waki, and drops in early 2019.
