Mike Hamilton was born in Fort Hood TX. to a father who was in the military, Hamilton spent much of his childhood growing up in different parts of the world, in places as far as Germany to as close as Georgia. As soon as he began studying saxophone, which his father chose for him he has never parted from making music his life. Even as early as grade school, he was consistently voted the Most Promising Music Student. He graduated from Berklee College of Music on a four-year scholarship in 1995 and quickly swept up awards such as the Outstanding Achievement Award in Instrumental Performance. In addition to the saxophone, Hamilton also produces, plays keys, bass and has been a vocalists for the multi-platinum artists Savage Garden and Coolio. He has produced recordings for Interscope, and BGP Records. His recordings include Heart and Soul with the Winans, Thus Spoke Z with CTI, and the solo albums “Natural Attraction”, “Here Together”, “God’s Will” and his latest record “Moving” released late August 2011. His music has been described as; "a skillful combination of rhythm & blues, pop, funk and contemporary jazz..." by Kenneth Yarbrough of Boston's WUMB-FM. Hamilton was a member of the house band for the Viacom network late night show "Live from LA" and has been interviewed on TV shows “Boston Mosaic”, "Jazz Scene" as well as featured interviews on the show "Live from L.A." Hamilton has appeared and toured with multi-platinum recording artists such as Neyo, James Brown, Tyrese, Savage Garden, Coolio, Joe, Ronny Jordan, Jonathan Butler, and Phil Perry. He has performed at the BBC London, the NFL World Bowl IX Halftime Show, The David Letterman show, the Turn Ben Stein On TV show, and the Today show. He has been featured at the Boston Globe Jazz Festival and the Santa Barbara Jazz Festival. Hamilton performed to standing room only audiences on his Brazil Tour in March 2009 and his tour in Sweden 2010. MIke's 2011 tour of the album "Moving" in Brasilia was a huge success and got Mike an invitation to teach and perform in Jan. 2012 at Brasilia's school of music 34th annual music and performance camp for music students of all ages throughout the entire country of Brazil, called "34 Civebra". Hamilton is scheduled to perform in the US for the remainder of 2011 and do an extensive tour in Sweden & Europe in 2012.

Mike Hamilton has been teaching for Berklee College of Music for over 7 years. He was an assistant professor in the Contemporary Writing and Production dept. where he taught Midi courses using Digital audio workstations as well as teaching music theory and Hip Hop Writing and Production, a course that Hamilton created and develped at Berklee College.
