Oliver Timmons

OT was born in Harlem USA who turned professional at the age of nine while singing in the Boys Choir of Harlem prototype at the Church of the Intercession. He was a part of the beginnings of Hip Hop and later was booked annually in the Jazz Mobile of New York City as well as Harlem Week Celebrations.

Oliver was greatly influenced by the music genius the likes of Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Chic Corea and Earth Wind and Fire, James Brown, George Clinton’s P-Funk.

Once billed as Ali, OT has worked the local New York Circuit as a bass player in about every landmark music house in the City. His credits range from the rock houses like SOB’s to the Blues/Adult Contemporary houses like McKell’s. He has also performed in the more selected environment of Avery Fisher and Cami Hall to Clubs like The Blue Note. He could also be seen in the New York Club scene working in clubs like Dangerfield’s, Harlem’s Showman’s, Disco Fever and The Roller Rink.

OT took a break from the entertainment life to raise his sons but has now returned to the music set. This new OT has exploded out of the old as a multi-instrumentalist prepared to take entertainment to new heights.

He is not only experienced as an entertainer, but as a personality that knows the music and the music business. He has worked in the executive position as VP of marketing and promotions with Unique Records and manager for various groups among which stands Cecil Greer and Burning Bush. He was co-founder of the band Freshwater working as head of productions for another company. This experience has broadened his talents as a writer, producer and artist. It has also created in him a stronger more forceful and confident musician.

Most recently, OT has reached new heights in his multi-faceted professional career through the release of his first album, OTX-1 on Tuf Guy Records, available via: http://www.cdbaby/cd/otx, where he played all of the instruments.
