Patrick Manzecchi
Born in Paris (F) in 1969. Lives in Konstanz (GER) since 1977. Worked and toured with some highly respected international artists like: Sheila Jordan, Pee Wee Ellis, Fred Wesley, Barry Harris, Teddy Edwards, Arthur Blythe, Bobby Watson, Robin Eubanks, Dick Oatts, Gary Smulyan, Mark Soskin, Richie Beirach, George Mraz, David Friedman, Scott Hamilton, Hatty Allen, Paolo Fresu, Joe Magnarelli, Dan Barrett, Darmon Meader, Jimmy Woode Jr., Reggie Johnson, Vince Benedetti, Harvie Swartz, Tim Hagans, Peter Madsen, Allan Praskin, Gary Barone, Sandy Patton, Dusko Goykovich, Cornelius Claudio Kreusch, Francois Lindemann, Gregor Huebner, Steffen Schorn to name a few and played with some of the best German and Swiss musicians of his generation. Festivals all over Europe and Asia, countless radio- and TV broadcasts. Recordings as a sideman for Mons Records, Marquart Music, Chorus Records, Satindoll Productions and some more companies. His first own CD “Ready and able” (live with Jimmy Woode Jr.) from 2001 was very well received by critics. The second CD “Yoda’s dilemma” with the Patrick Manzecchi quartet from 2009 is available on www.manzecchi.de and/or on AMAZON. So is "Out Of The Box" from 2013. In 2017 "Rectilinear" was released with no less than Richie Beirach. In 2022 Manzecchi produced his drum solo recording "Talking To Myself". Two years later, in 2024, his newest release "Tenderly" features nobody else than saxophone legend Scott Hamilton.
Awards
Patrick Manzecchi is honour member of the Jazzclub Konstanz. In 2004 he received the cultural prize of the town Friedrichshafen. In 2007 he was the “Jazzman Of The Month” (DUSK MAGAZINE_US print, january 07). In 2017 and 2022 his records "Rectilinear" and "Talking To Myself" were both nominated for the prize of the german recording reviews ("Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik").
