Paul Weitz

Paul Weitz hails from Buffalo, NY and has been a professional musician for more than 30 years. Paul studied Classical Guitar at the University of Buffalo under Oswald Rantucci, Mike Andriaccio and Joel Perry. He studied jazz guitar under Andy Roemer and Frank Gerrard. Still in Buffalo, he studied composition and arranging under Russ Mesina. In Los Angeles he studied guitar under Ted Greene and Sid Jacobs.

His major influences include Barney Kessell, Ed Bickert and Lenny Breau. Paul has played with notables Sam Most, Jimmy Wyble, Barry Zweig, and the Lettermen. He holds a BS Degree in Software Engineering from Cal Lutheran University.

Paul performs throughout the Los Angeles area as Solo, Duo (with bass), Trio and Quartet; most often with jazz vocalist Donna Deussen.

His debut CD "THE PAUL WEITZ TRIO" with Gus Duffy - drums and Matt VanBenschoten - bass, was released in the Spring of 2010. It has gained high acclaim and has air play on jazz radio stations including KKJZ in Los Angeles.

Paul and jazz vocalist Donna Deussen just released the CD "On The Street Where You Live" and is available now on CD Baby.
