Randy Hunter
About five years ago I started writing educational jazz books. Using my personal students as guinea pigs, and I keep about 70 of them at any given time, I began by writing etude and duet books. It's escalated from there to include a jazz combo series designed for use in schools, workshops, or even private studios as a small group or individual improv method.
You can check out the endorsements some of my books have received from a number of internationally known jazz musicians and educators like Joe Lovano, Randy Brecker, and Bobby Shew, to name a few, at my main website: www.randyhunterjazz.com.
I've got a few mp3 downloads from my series, "Complete Jazz Styles," posted here. These downloads are from the sax books, but I also have trumpet, trombone, and flute books available. You can visit my main site for additional free mp3 and PDF downloads from all of my books on the "Free Stuff" page. I've got some free improv lessons and transcriptions there also.
A jazz teacher locater page is also available through a link from the randyhunterjazz.com home page. This is a free service, so please feel free to register if you are a teacher or browse if you are a student...no obligation.
I am also available as a freelance musician in the Atlanta area. If you are looking for a band for a private event or club engagement, drop me a note. I work with several different bands and can likely provide just what you want.
