The Recliners

The Recliners, hailing from Austin, TX and now also based in Richmond, VA take the traditional "lounge sound" and zoom-off into galaxies never explored by Sinatra, Jones, or even Humperdinck. In over 15 plus years of existence, The Recliners have entertained them all: young and old, tuxedo-ed or tongue-pierced, in taffeta or tattooed, debutantes and dirt-bikers. A Recliner's Recipe: Take traditional standards from the 20's to the 60's, add in newer songs from the 70's, 80's and 90's, swing them across the dance floor, then mix in a generous shot of sultry bossa nova and cha-cha rhythms, blend until smoother than a James Bond come-on line, add tasty original songs (shaken...not stirred) and you're in martini heaven, baby.

"Somehow, Martinis in the Mosh Pit comes to mind" --Tim Abbot--

"The Recliners are much more than a parody.; it makes you want to book a cruise for two on the Pacific Princess. The Recliners live? Yes babe, a must see!" --Kevin Hopper, The Albuquerque Journal--

"With the swanky, swingy, and loungey arrangements of rock & roll tunes, your grandparents will have no idea that they are dancing to AC/DC and The Beastie Boys. It’s the perfect touch of surrealism to add to your wedding reception."

"BEST WEDDING BAND" "BEST LOUNGE/SWING BAND" “BEST COVER BAND” --The Austin Chronicle--
