Ron Matthewson

Ron Matthewson is orignally from Scotland. He is best known for his work with The RONNIE SCOTT GROUP. The rythmn section of this band recorded under the name of THE CDM TRIO, the personnel being John Critchinson, Keyboards, Ron Matthewson, Double Bass, and Martin Drew on Drums. Ron Matthewson was also on bass with the well known group PAZ. Regretably, Ron has not played for sometime now, due to ill health, but he still remains one of the finest virtuoso bass players Britain has ever produced!

Carr had previously paid extensive dues in acoustic jazz, most notably as co-leader with saxophonist Don Rendell of the highly regarded, culturally inclusive Rendell-Carr Quintet from 1964 to 1969.
