The Mondlarks Hammond B3 Trio

The Mondlarks Hammond B3 Trio is an Australian Jazz swing group. The line up is Liam Kealy Hammond B3, Brigid McKinnon vocals/guitar and Rohan Heddle 0n Drums and percussion.

Their repertoire takes the audience on a journey of 40s/50s early jazz standards mixed with some Latin, Soul and Blues. Both Brigid and Liam, collaborate in writing all of their original music Producing pumping Hammond and drum instrumentals, Along with a divers selection of Sultry Jazz flavoured songs from Brigid. As the name implies the main feature of the line up is the Hammond B3 Organ played in the traditional style of the early Jazz Hammond players using bass pedals.

The sound produced with the B3 is both warm and well rounded says Liam who has studied the styles of Jimmy Smith, Barabara Denneilen Jack Mcduff, Jimmy Mcgriff,

The Mondlarks have toured across Australia performing at most of the resorts and music venues. In 2013 they performed at the Internationally renowned Wangaratta Jazz & Blues Festival, a festival that attracts both Australian and International musicians as an annual event. They have also held a 5 year residency at Rippon Lea Estate in Melbourne. Rippon Lea being one of Melbourne’s iconic Mansions and gardens Owned By the National Trust of Australia.
