In 2008 Tomek Grochot recorded his first solo album which features a world famous jazz star Eddie Henderson on trumpet and fluegelhorn as well as great Polish musicians: Adam Pierończyk on saxophones, Dominik Wania on piano and Rhodes piano and Robert Kubiszyn on double bass. On drums Tomek Grochot - a composer of all 10 recorded pieces.
Tomek Grochot Quintet "My Stories" album presents music inspired by unusual experiences and trips to extraordinary places. It's a kind of a very personal, emotional journey through the special moments in life like the waiting for the birth of the artist's first, beloved son, visits to amazing places in Mexico during a concert tour, scubadiving expeditions into the incredible world of coral reefs.
Tomek Grochot has played and recorded as a sideman with most of the best Polish jazz musicians: Janusz Muniak, Leszek Kułakowski, Jarek Śmietana (album "Vis a Vis" with Nippy Noya), Andrzej Cudzich, Krzesimir Dębski, Piotr Wojtasik, Wojtek Groborz, Wojciech Karolak, Jan Jarczyk, Marian Pawlik, Tadeusz Leśniak, Adam Wendt, Ryszard Styła, Karol White, Marek Raduli, Janusz Grzywacz, Krzysztof Ścierański, Adam "Szabas" Kowalewski, Tomasz Grzegorski, Piotr Wyleżoł, among others. For the past couple of years he has performed and recorded with an internationally regarded group Kroke, as well as a Polish singer star Edyta Geppert and a great pianist, composer and arranger Krzysztof Herdzin. He has taken part in Nigel Kennedy's projects: "East Meets East" , "Nigel Kennedy plays Jimi Hendrix", "A Very Nice Album", with whom he also played with Berliner Philharmoniker.
