Dor Herskovits

Dor Herskovits is an Israeli drummer based in Boston.
He began pursuing his passion for music at the age of 14, studying drumming and guitar. Dor studied in Rimon School of Music in Israel, while performing with top local artists in the Israeli Jazz scene. In 2010 Dor transferred to Berklee College of Music on an international scholarship. After completing his Bachelor’s degree at Berklee, Dor had spent a year in New York exploring the affluent jazz scene and performing and teaching. During that year he had also participated in the semi-finals of the prestigious Thelonious Monk Jazz drummer competition. Recently, Dor had completed his Masters degree in jazz performance at the New England Conservatory. Today he performs regularly as a sideman as well as a bandleader in Boston and all around New England and New York. He volunteers in community outreach performances, composes original materials, teaches private lessons and gives master classes on Jazz drumming and improvisation.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
