Douglas Barnett

Douglas Barnett is one of Seattle's finest and busiest musicians; A versatile freelance bassist who began playing in 1972. He is also quite accomplished on Guitar, Piano and is a versatile Vocalist. As a bassist Douglas Barnett has performed and recorded with national artists like Deniece Williams, Hank Crawford, Phillip Bailey, Jeff Kashiwa, Joyce Cooling and Glenn Yarbrough. Locally, you can often find him performing with acclaimed northwest artists Darren Motamedy and Michael Powers.

Bassist Douglas Barnett's stellar musicianship, versatility and professionalism have placed him in great demand for both recording sessions and live performances. Douglas lives in Gig Harbor, Washington with his wife and two daughters.

As a bassist Douglas appears on recordings featuring noted performers Gerald Albright, Pat Metheny, George Duke, and Grover Washington Jr. on Phillip Bailey’s "Dreams". Eric Marienthal, Gregg Karukas and Luis Conte on Phil Sheeran’s "It’s A Good Thing". Rodney Franklin, Bryan Mantia and Vernon Black on Becca Christel’s "Initiate the Kiss".

Douglas' bass and vocal talents are on hundreds of radio station jingle packages as part of the GMI Media production team in Seattle, and can be heard all around the world from Noti Radio in Puerto Rico, to KJR FM Seattle...from KBEQ Kansas City, to KOOL FM in Sacramento.
