Duane Edwards

Bassist Duane Edwards is an accomplished musician currently residing in Portland, Maine. Duane has performed throughout New England, across the United States, and Canada; and has even performed at Lincoln Center. He studied jazz at the University of Maine at Augusta with Boston bassist Greg Loughman, Thelonious Monk Institute Award recipient Steve Grover, Richard Nelson, Frank Mauceri, and Chuck Winfield. Duane has also studied with jazz heavyweights Ben Allison and Drew Gress. He performs in a variety of groups with styles ranging from jazz to rock to cuban; and has shared the stage with musicians such as Chuchito Valdes, Jon Langford, Ben Taylor, Trombone Shorty, and Philadelphia Poet Laureate Yolanda Wisher. His music has been featured on All About Jazz radio and across the United States. Mr. Edwards currently teaches at the Midcoast School of Music in Portland. He is also the jazz bass professor at the University of Maine at Augusta, Bowdoin, and Colby.
