Dusan Jevtovic Dusan Jevtovic

Born in Serbia in the late seventies, Dusan Jevtovic began his musical education listening to the wide variety of music that could be heard on the national radio – everything from American jazz and British hard rock to the Serbian traditional folk music. His parents bought him a guitar at 12, after he saw the legendary guitarist RM Tocak and his group Smak in concert. Shortly thereafter, Dusan put together his first band ‘Trim’, quickly drawing attention of the listening public, who recognized the youngsters unusual talent and abundant energy evident in every performance.

Couple those early experiences with his three years of private studies under the tutelage of Radomir Mihajlovic Tocak, and you have the main ingredients of Dusan’s virtuosic guitar playing, recognizable sound and stylistic versatility.

Fast forward to 2003. when Dusan, after much success playing in countless local and national music events left his native Serbia and relocated to Barcelona, where he completed his studies in modern music at the renown Liceu conservatory. Along with his studies, Dusan quickly became a much sought after sideman on the Spanish music scene, performing in numerous festivals and tours with the drummer Xavi Reija’s jazz fusion outfit as well as popular singer-songwriter Rafa Pons. Dusan is also toured all around the world, with a Rim Banna, one of the most famous arab female singer. As a studio session musician Dusan has recorded on albums released by Satchmo records, Batiendo records, Vicious records, L’indi records, and other European labels.

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
