Earthsound

Earthsound is a world music, jazz, and environmental sound ensemble based in Boston and led by bassist Jason Davis. The group has been nominated for the Boston Phoenix Best Music Poll and has been the feature of a Boston Globe article.

Reflecting Jason's interest in the natural world and environmental issues, Earthsound performs improvised music along with natural sounds recorded in locales such as the Monteverde Cloud Forest of Costa Rica. The repertoire draws upon styles such as bossa nova, jazz, and classical impressionism, and features original music as well as arrangements of pieces by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Maurice Ravel, and other composers.
