Ed Jackson's wide range of styles is evident in the musicians he has worked and recorded with which include Roy Haynes, George Cables, The Fatback Band, Melba Moore, Bobby Watson Big Band, T.S. Monk, The Jackson Brothers Quartet, Illinois Jacquet, Weldon Irvine, The Count Basie Band, Donald Blackman, Bernard Wright, Jaki Byard, Ran Blake, Sam Rivers, Tom Varner, Ty Stephens and SoulJaazz, . He is also the founder of the world renowned 29th Street Saxophone Quartet, an internationally acclaimed group he has extensively recorded and toured with.
Ed has recorded four CD’s as a leader. He also can be found performing regularly with his group the Ed Jackson Quartet at his own Jazz Club in Queens, NY called the Jackson Room. In fact his most recent CD Live was recorded at the Jackson Room.
Ed is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music and received the Selmer Company Award for Outstanding Saxophonist.
