Ms. Tracey who studied music since childhood, can remember hearing recordings of Duke Ellington and Count Basie in her crib, lives to perfect, preserve and expand te jazz Tradition through her instrument. She first honed her skills in performance as an actress on the Theatrical Stage and in Films and Television. She was a mainstay of the Jazz scene in New York in the late 80's and early 90's before moving o Los Angeles for 10 years. She appeared in many jazz venues on the West Coast including the Jazz Bakery,The Gardenia, Hollywood Casino and Billy Higgins Jazz Workshop. On the East Coast and Midwest she has headlined Women in Jazz Festival in Ohio, First Night in Connecticut and appeared in many venues in New York City and Upstate New York. She has previously worked with such jazz notables as Frank Foster and Barry Harris and recorded with Taj Mahal, David Murray and Della Reese. In 2007 she was nominated Best Jazz Vocalist by MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs).Her current musical director is Frank Owens and will appear at Cobi's Place, Oct. 20 and 8:30 and 10:00 with a Trio in her One Woman Jazz Show: Songs in the Key of My Yesterday--Major & Minor.
