Eric DiVito

New York guitarist and composer Eric DiVito has been leading his own groups and performing as a sideman in the NYC area since 2003. He has performed at many of NYC's top jazz clubs and live music venues including Smalls, The Iridium, The Kitano, The Garage, 55 Bar, Swing 46, The Flatiron Room, Tomi Jazz, and many more as well as regional and international touring. Eric performs a mix of traditional, straight ahead, bebop and modern jazz, often featuring his own original compositions. This includes music from The Great American Songbook as well as more modern jazz composers. Eric has also performed and recorded with some of NYC's greatest Jazz musicians and has worked in orchestras and jazz groups for Carnival Cruise lines and The Bateaux NY.

As an educator, Eric has taught music in the New York NYC public school system for eleven years before accepting a position in Westchester public schools in 2017. Having designed and implemented curriculum for both elementary and middle school music, he teaches both classroom music and directs instrumental ensembles. He also teaches guitar techniques privately at his home studio.

In 2011, Eric signed with the Ontario based record label Pioneer Jazz Collective (PJC Records) and released his debut album as a leader, Breaking the Ice (2012), as well as a follow up record, The Second Time Around (2013). Both records have received national and international acclaim.

Eric has been published in Downbeat Magazine, RAE Magazine, and Play Jazz Guitar. He plays and endorses Eastman guitars and Cordoba guitars. Eric resides with his wife and two sons in Rockland County, New York.
