Eric Mintel and the Eric Mintel Quartet have cultivated one of the most distinctive styles in jazz, combining an exciting and delicate lyrical sense with a powerful and dramatic musical force. Going beyond the traditional forms and standard techniques of American jazz, this quartet is changing the landscape of jazz and broadening its audience.
The EMQ performed by special request of former President Bill Clinton at the White House and has had over eleven concerts at the Kennedy Center including one for American and Japanese Delegates with First Lady Laura Bush in attendance. Eric was a featured guest on Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz on NPR, the Quartet performed and sold a 3 CD boxed set of Eric's music on QVC. They have performed at many jazz festivals including the JVC Jazz Festival, Hartford Jazz Festival, Mellon Jazz Festival and Savannah Jazz Fest to name a few. The EMQ has been featured on the PIX11 National News in New York City and they have also been featured in Down Beat, Jazz Times Magazines and recently in the Wall Street Journal.
