Euan Burton Euan Burton

Euan Burton is an award-winning Composer, Bassist, Producer and one of the leading musicians to emerge from Scotland in the last decade. Signed to Whirlwind Recordings, he has released two internationally acclaimed albums with them: “Occurrences” (2012) and “Too Much Love” (2014). As a bassist, his warm tones and poignant improvisations give nod to the Charlie Haden school while retaining his own voice throughout. He's incredibly in demand as a sideman across many genres in his native Scotland and has appeared on dozens of albums to date, with performances with many modern jazz greats including Ari Hoenig, Gilad Hekselman, Will Vinson and Jonathan Kreisberg. Moreover, he's played with folk legends Aly Bain & Phil Cunningham, pop group Texas and can be heard on the Disney Pixar film Brave. Burton grew up in East Kilbride, Scotland where he took up Bass Guitar at the age of 10. After being introduced to Jazz in his teens Euan switched to Double Bass and went on to study at Birmingham Conservatoire receiving the Jazz Course Prize while in his second year and graduating with a Bmus Jazz (Hons). After leaving Birmingham Burton returned to Scotland where he has become one of the countries forefront musicians as both a sideman and leader.
