Evan Tighe

Evan Tighe is a Montreal-based drummer and composer who specializes in contemporary jazz music and improvisation. He has recently completed a Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance from McGill University and released a modern jazz album entitled “Threadcount”. This album explores the creative space between the purely composed and the entirely-improvised through a dialogue of contemporary classical aesthetics and the jazz tradition. Evan currently works as a freelance musician in jazz, indie rock, folk and pop scenes, working with many Montreal bands and musicians. He is currently developing a course on the foundation of time and rhythm for private instruction and undergraduate programs, as well as currently composing music for several new jazz works.
