Fernanda Cunha
Fernanda Cunha is well established singer on today’s Brazilian jazz scene. She started to sing in 1997 in Rio de janeiro,Brazil.
Fernanda has toured in Brazil, Canada, Portugal, Spain, Austria, Denmark, France, Malaysia and Argentina .
In 2012 she recorded her 5th CD entitled “Coração do Brasil” (Heart of Brazil singing well-known sambas and bossa novas with a new and refreshing interpretation. “Coração do Brasil” was recorded to celebrate Fernanda´s 15 year of career.
In september 2015 she released a new album “Olhos de mar”, the first one featuring only previously unreleased songs written by great songwriters that are still making music in Brazil such as Antonio Adolfo, Cristóvão Bastos, Carlinhos Vergueiro, Daniel Gonzaga, Denilson Santos, Filó Machado, and 2 songs composed by Toronto jazz guitarist Reg Schwager (Born in Netherlands, living in Toronto-Canada) with lyrics by Fernanda. The CD brings Bossa nova, sambas, Brazilian blues and jazz, upbeat songs.
In celebration of the 90th anniversary of Antonio Carlos Jobim in 2017, Cunha released an album entitled JOBIM 90 featuring only Jobim's songs (music and lyrics) accompanied by a brazilian standard quartet ( Ze Carlos on guitar, Camilla Dias on piano, Helbe Machado on drums and Jorjao Carvalho on bass). Reg Schwager (Toronto guitarist ) and Edson Ghilardi(drummer) plays on track 5.
