Gabor Horvath

One of the talented young jazz pianist and composer from Hungary. Born in June 1978 in Budapest. He started to play the piano at the age of seven in the State Music Elementary School. He graduated from VMG high school with a drama major and learned from great hungarian jazz pianists like Zsolt Kaltenecker and Károly Binder. In 2005 he attended to the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, Jazz department. In his style you can always recognize mixing elements of in & out sheer agressiveness of attack, combining with a lyrical melodic and harmonic adventurism of classical romanticism! His compositions gives plenty of space for exploration in the realms of Latin, crossover-jazz,electronic or filmscore music, remaining all along within the field of contemporary jazz. In 1998, he formed The Transform Quintet. They released three albums yet and played many Jazz Festivals and clubs around Europe. The musical telepathy among this five people are very special when they're improvising with explosive power and excellent technique. In the years to develop their own sound they have mixed in elements of many roots of modern jazz while this organic style is based on their sophisticated taste and played with special talent and joy. Gabe composed some movie scores, pop and hip hop songs also and he played together with the great jazz pianist Joey Calderazzo. Besides The Transform Quintet, he is recently working on his new electronic solo album and a jazz trio setup....
