Garrett Brown

Drummer Garrett Brown graduated from William Paterson University's jazz department. While attending, he studied with artists such as Kevin Norton, Ari Hoenig, Rich Derosa, John Riley and Ben Perowsky. Garrett has performed in some of the top clubs and jazz festivals in New York, Boston, Philadelphia and New Jersey, and in addition, he has has taken part in improvisation master classes at Cornell University as well as various high schools and colleges in New Jersey. Garrett is very well regarded for his unique approach to improvisation and rhythm, while maintaining a very interactive, linear and sensitive playing style. He is currently a member of Kevin Norton's "Counterpoint 3" ensemble, and "Blues in Space" with Rubin Kodheli.
