How to Say Sorry and Other Lessons began as a multidiscliplinary show, a highly personal and revealing portrait of a journey toward self-actualization, told through a series of stories and songs. In Fritzen's first album of all-original music, exploring themes of failure and redemption, of piecing together new life out of the rubble of heartbreak and loss, and finding love. Fritzen boldly sheds light on issues like boundaries and consent, gender roles, shame, and other challenging topics that are becoming a vital part of our social conversation. Co-written with pianist/composer/life-partner David Restivo, the music encompasses swing, funk, pop, gospel, and even a touch of reggae.
