Album Description

Isolation is the first solo experience of the double bassist Matteo Mosolo. The entire project has been developed during early 2020 and released on Cd in August of the same year (Caligola Records 2281). The main theme of Isolation is the contrast between the search for freedom vs the individual freedom imposed by the “Free Society” in which we live. On one hand the desire, the fights, the sorrow waiting for freedom. On the other hand the freedom to destroy our Earth, the freedom to spit hate online or to believe in fake news, the freedom to be slaves of our egoism and invidualism. To emphasize this contraast the words and the music of Isolation are inspired by early black music like country blues, gospel and spirituals. A deep and intense path enanched and highlighted by the minimalist instrumentiation.
