Itamar Shapiro
Itamar Shapiro is a New York based drummer and percussionist.
Born in Israel in 1995 Itamar started playing music when he was 6 years old studying different percussion instruments. When he was 12, he started playing the drum set which became his primary instrument. In high school he attended the music program at Blich high school in Ramat Gan. After graduating high school Itamar studied for three years at the CJS academic program in the Israeli conservatory of Tel Aviv. In 2017 Itamar moved to New York to complete his degree at the New School for jazz and contemporary music’s performance program and graduated with honors in 2019.
throughout the years Itamar played with world -renowned artist such as Sullivan Fortner, Joel Frahm and more. He played and recorded with his own led groups in venues around the world such as Mezzrow Jazz Club,Ornithology Jazz Club, Bern International Jazz Festival, Beit Haamudim, Shablul Jazz club and more.
