James C Davis

James Davis is an active Chicago trumpet player, composer and music educator. James has toured and recorded with many musically diverse projects including his own Quintet, Beveled, Zing!, Matt Ulery, Grazyna Auguscik, Julie Meckler, Karl Schwonik and others. Along with leading his own ensembles he also regularly plays with other groups including Balkano, the Ian Torres Big Band, The Chicago Skyliners Big Band, The Great Postmodern Nightmare Big Band, The Gentle Giant Quintet, and the Jason Steele Quartet. Davis has toured with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and the Grammy nominated One O’Clock Lab Band, where he was frequently featured as a soloist.
