Jeffrey Lien is a multi-faceted drummer. A dedicated musician since childhood, Jeffrey has been performing to audiences throughout Boston, New York City and Chicago for the past 18 years. Upon receiving a merit based scholarship to Berklee College of Music in 1999, Jeffrey moved to Boston where he worked to develop his musical skills studying with legendary performer/educators John Ramsay (Art Blakey), Joe Hunt (Bill Evans), Bob Kaufman (Jerry Bergonzi) and Walter Beasley.

While a student at Berklee, Jeffrey performed professionally around the area with many of New England's top jazz, rock and jobbing bands. Performances of note included appearances at the Regattabar Jazz Festival, Institute of Contemporary Art, Berklee Performance Center, Ryles Jazz Club, and locations throughout the city. In 2003, Jeffrey toured with singer/songwriter Rich Price (Geffen Records), opening for the Ben Taylor Band. It was also during these years that Jeffrey worked with three other great singer/songwriters from the Boston area; Beth Boucher, Mike Murray and Pablo Picker. Collectively these groups performed throughout Boston and New York City at CBGB's, The Bitter End, House of Blues, Toad, Arlenes Grocery, and at South by Southwest among other venues.

In 2005, Jeffrey was appointed to the percussion faculty at the Bosse School of Music in Weymouth, MA. At Bosse, Jeffrey taught 35 students privately weekly, as well as directing three ensembles, beginning piano and music theory.

After six years in Boston, Jeffrey moved to Chicago, IL to continue his performance and teaching career. Since moving to Chicago in the fall of 2006, Jeffrey has quickly become in-demand performing with some of the city's top musicians and premier ensembles including: The Gordon Wright Band, Tommi Zender, Chris Greene Quartet, Damian Espinosa Trio, Marc Piane Trio, Roger Panella Trio, David Rothstein Orchestra, D Bayne Septet, Eric Koppa, Zaragoza, Myles Hayes, Lady T, Shawn Salmon Trio, Heather Moran, Lori McLain, Dan Nicolson, Scott Anderson, Scott Burns, Christopher Madsen, Patrick Mulcahy, Eddie Harrison, Jesse Palter, among many others.
