Jonathon Peretz

Drummer Jonathon Peretz, based out of the New York City area, has been playing professionally for more than 20 years and is known in the music industry as being a good musical fit in a wide range of musical styles. From jazz, to pop and rock, from Caribbean to Brazilian rhythms,from standards to sacred music and classical, Jonathon brings a depth of knowledge and experience as well as both a steadying and a driving hand. Originally from Ann Arbor, he studied music at Oakland University in Michigan, and has honed his craft working closely with an impressive array of musical masters, including the late trumpet giant Maynard Ferguson, vocalist Jean Carne, pianist Bob James, and singer Ben E. King. In 1990 he was a member of the band for the HBO comedy special "Robert Wuhl's World Tour," and from '92 to '93 he toured exclusively with Latin pop star Emmanuelle(Sony Latin artist). From 1993 to 1995 he was a member of the legendary Blood, Sweat & Tears with David Clayton-Thomas, and then moved on to tour all over the world for two years ('95 to '97) with the international pop sensation Ricky Martin. Well-respected by fellow musicians and widely relied upon by composers, arrangers, producers, and engineers, Jonathon is a working drummer and percussionist who has remained true to his calling through his respect for his art, his professionalism and his talent.
